Everest Region

The Everest or Solukhumbu region is the second most popular trekking area in Nepal. Solukhumbu is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest  mountain Everest(8848 metres) , but also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. The primary goal of an Everest Trek is the Everest base camp at an elevation of about 5340 metres and Gokyo Peak. In this place many festivals are celebrated like New Year, or Lhosar, Mani Rimdu and Dumje. In Everest  there are many hotels of varying  degrees of sophistication all the way from Jiri to Everest base camp. To return back from there you can either fly or walk to the Everest region.
